Why Do People Like Chiropractors?
People like chiropractors because their care is safe,
gentle and drug-free. But perhaps most exciting is our
philosophy of health care: chiropractic enhances
health rather than fights disease. Instead of
diagnosing and treating disease, chiropractors work to
eliminate a serious form of stress from your body that
interferes with your natural healing ability – the
vertebral subluxation complex. Your chiropractor
is the only health professional trained to correct
Subluxations using the art of the spinal adjustment.
Once your spine is adjusted your health is enhanced,
your body functions better, heals better and feels
better.
Chiropractic
is the most popular drug-free health care system in
the world.
Increasing numbers of people are seeing chiropractors
for health problems because when your body works
better you are better able to heal no matter what you
are suffering from. There is no limit to what
your body can heal. Researchers have found that
your body can heal “incurable” diseases – everything
from the common cold to cancer.
More families are seeing chiropractors to maintain
and enhance their health, for better sports
performance, natural immunity – and a drug-free
lifestyle.
The Secrets For A Longer Life
The
“secrets” of living longer and healthier are not
really secrets at all. In a large study of Finnish
men, those that expressed a high level of satisfaction
with their lives are more likely to be alive 20 years
later than those who are dissatisfied. One of the
greatest predictors of satisfaction was the ability to
form intimate relationships.
Conversely,
dissatisfied men were found to be three times more
likely to die of serious diseases such as cancer.
Men who drink heavily are even more likely to die,
while moderate drinking appeared to extend life.
Marriage, reasonable exercise, a good social status
and not smoking all proved to be life-extending. (1)
P.S. Don’t forget regular chiropractic
adjustments.
Vitamin
D, Sunlight and Cancer Prevention
Vitamin D is essential for health, however the vitamin
D added to milk and most vitamins is synthetic vitamin
D2 (ergocalciferol) that is not nearly as good as the
vitamin D obtained from sunlight or natural food
sources like cod liver oil.
The
best place to get vitamin D is from ultraviolet rays
from sunlight. Darker skinned people require 10 to 20
times the sun exposure than lighter skinned people to
build up the same amount of vitamin D. That is one of
the major reasons why African Americans have a much
higher rate of cancer in North America than other
ethnic groups.
New
research reveals that insufficient exposure to
ultraviolet radiation may be an important risk factor
for cancer in Western Europe and North America. The
research found an inverse correlation between cancer
mortality and levels of ultraviolet B light – the part
of light that the body uses to create vitamin D. The
study's author, Dr William Grant, says northern parts
of the United States may be dark enough in winter that
vitamin D synthesis shuts down completely.
There are 13 malignancies that show an inverse
correlation between sunlight exposure and cancer.
The strongest inverse correlation is with breast,
colon, and ovarian cancer. Other cancers apparently
affected by sunlight include tumors of the bladder,
uterus, esophagus, rectum, and stomach. A moderate
amount of sunlight is good for you – just don’t burn.

Breastfeeding
Babies who are breastfed are physically and
neurologically healthier and the benefits are
livelong. Breast feeding also
decreases
the risk of breast cancer. According to the Baby
Friendly Hospital Newsletter: “Study after study shows
that babies who are not breastfed have higher rates of
death, meningitis, childhood leukemia and other
cancers, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, bacterial
and viral infections, diarrheal diseases, otitis
media, allergies, obesity and developmental delays.
Women who do not breastfeed demonstrate a higher risk
for breast and ovarian cancers.” (3)
Words of Wisdom
The first duty of love is to listen.
– Paul Tillich
Everything can be taken away from a man but one
thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose
one's attitude in any given set of circumstances,
to choose one's own way.
– Victor Frankl,
Holocaust survivor and author
The smallest act of kindness is worth more than
the greatest intention.
– Kahlil Gibran
Never let the odds keep you from pursuing what you
know in your heart you were meant to do.
– Satchel Paige
Love is ...
A group of professional people posed this question
to a group of 4-to-8-year-olds: "What does love
mean?" Here are some answers:
"When
my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend
over and paint her toenails anymore. So my
grandfather does it for her all the time, even
when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca, 8
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives
me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy
new ones." Lauren, 5
"Love is that first feeling you feel before all
the bad stuff gets in the way." Charlie, 5
“I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom
says she only picks on me because she loves me. So
I pick on my baby sister because I love her."
Bethany, 4
"Love cards like Valentine's cards say stuff on
them that we'd like to say ourselves, but we
wouldn't be caught dead saying." Mike, 8
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and
down and little stars come out of you." Karen, 7
Humor
My grandfather always said, “Don’t watch your
money; watch your health.” So one day while
I was watching my health, someone stole all my
money. It was my grandfather. – Jackie Mason
While working for an organization that delivers
lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my
four-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds.
She was unfailingly intrigued by the various
appliances of old age, particularly the canes,
walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her
staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a
glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable
barrage of questions, she merely turned and
whispered, "The tooth fairy will never believe
this!"
A
little girl was watching her parents dress for a
party. When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo,
she warned, "Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit."
"And why not, darling?"
"You know that it always gives you a headache the
next morning."
A little girl had just finished her first week of
school. "I'm just wasting my time," she said to
her mother "I can't read, I can't write – and they
won't let me talk!"
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was
fascinated as he fingered through the old pages.
Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He
picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw
was an old leaf that had been pressed in between
the pages. "Mama, look what I found," the boy
called out. "What have you got there, dear?" With
astonishment in the young boy's voice, he
answered, "I think it's Adam's underwear."
As the doctor completed an examination of the
patient, he said, "I can't find a cause for your
complaint.
Frankly, I think it's due to drinking." "In that
case," said the patient, "I'll come back when
you're sober."
